This is how we do it
Behind every bulb and tuber lies a process that’s far from automated. As easy as it might sound, you can’t simply press a button and expect a flower bulb to roll out of a machine. Our work is hands-on, crafted with care and driven by people who know the product inside out.
From Marcel, who carefully takes dahlia cuttings, to Bas, who spends plenty of time on the tractor at our fields and Jeroen, who visits growers to select the best and most promising varieties. Every step is done with intention and expertise. Everyone contributes, whether you’re in the warehouse or at the office. Every colleague has our product in their hands, shaping the quality we’re known for. We’re proud to show you how this process comes together.

Fred. de Meulder founded his flower bulb company in 1898 in Lisse, at the heart of the Dutch bulb-growing region. Soon after, he began exporting bulbs to neighbouring countries such as France, Belgium and the United Kingdom. In 1901, the company was officially registered with the Chamber of Commerce as both a grower and an exporter.
