We're starting the year with a big milestone. As of 1 January 2026, owner Bas Reijerkerk (52) will continue the company together with three new shareholders: Tom van Maris (37, finance), Jeroen Alkemade (34, purchasing) and Marcel Angenent (37, sales).

All three new owners have been working at Fred. de Meulder for many years and grew up in the Bollenstreek, the heart of our Dutch flower bulb region. Their long-term involvement and deep understanding of the company form a strong foundation for the future.

Bas Reijerkerk explains:
“This important step safeguards the continuity of our 128-year-old company. We will continue to take responsibility for reliability within the supply chain. A younger management team naturally also brings a significant boost of energy.”

In addition to this new ownership structure, there is more good news. We have received the long-awaited building permit. In mid-2026, our office and warehouse will relocate to a brand-new facility at Leidsevaart 218 in Noordwijkerhout, further strengthening its position for future growth.

With a new generation of owners, a committed management team and a modern new location ahead, both management and employees look to 2026 and the years beyond with great confidence.
